Ministries & Groups

A vibrant tapestry of ministries at St Brigid's

At St Brigid's Catholic Parishes in Marrickville, a vibrant tapestry of ministries offers opportunities for service, compassion, and community connection. From Hospitality and Outreach to Social Justice and Bereavement support, each ministry reflects the parish’s commitment to living the Gospel through action. Whether through charitable programs like Vincent de Paul and Gift of Bread, or fellowship in the Men’s Club and Piety Store, parishioners are invited to share their gifts and deepen their faith together.

Hospitality Ministry

At St Brigid’s, hospitality is a Gospel value we practice with joy. From the moment people arrive to long after the final hymn, our Hospitality Ministry helps our parish feel like a welcoming home, where newcomers are noticed, regulars are known by name, and everyone is invited to stay a little longer. To embody the scriptural call to welcome one another as Christ has welcomed us (cf. Romans 15:7) by creating warm, safe, and inclusive spaces for connection after Mass and at parish events.

What We Do & Who Can Join
  • Sunday Hospitality: Organise and serve tea, coffee, and light refreshments after selected Sunday Masses and on major feast days.
  • Set-up & Pack-down: Prepare serving areas, manage supplies, and ensure spaces are clean and safe before and after use.
